Good Morning Everyone :) a big thank you to chiffonwings for the card and elanordh for the holiday gift - thanks so much!

I ran a solid 2 miles this morning, I'm feeling a little sore...hope everyone's holiday was safe and quiet. After my one-day work week last week, I have to go a whooping 4 times this week...craziness! The Giants are playing the Panthers in an hour...if they lose this game, they're done...if they win, they'll still need help to go to the playoffs...I'm going to start stressing later :)

I saw Up yesterday...dude...that was sad...I cried through a lot of it...

Merry Christmas to all of you celebrating tomorrow!

It seems that our plans to go to Midnight Mass tonight have been foiled by the weather. And my plans to give veriond a Christmas present on Christmas day have been foiled by the postal service. :( She'll just have to get it late, I suppose.

Tomorrow I shall have my Star Trek DVD, so expect some crazy spam posts soon. Also pictures. I cannot promise that veriond and I won't dress in our Trek shirts and take pictures with the DVD.

In other news, veriond has introduced me to a pretty excellent show called Seirei no Moribito (which you can watch at the link). Here is her post on the subject, but personally I am most excited by the prospect of my OTP formulation actually existing in the world. Namely, badass and emotionally repressed lady + empathic and emotionally giving dude = OTP. Also, it is a nice contained universe (only 26 episodes and the story is wrapped up), and it's one of those stories where everything is a shade of grey, which is always a thing I like!

Today was nice, with the occasional slip into family drama, but that's to be expected. ;) Spent a good deal of my afternoon with piecing together my nephew's new Lego stuff. Very long time no see, mostly due to chaos that has been my life since the last days of Summer. I can't tell you more right now, but I will tell you when I accomplish my goal. ;)

The Kansas City airport has free wi-fi! (P.S. I'm in KC now? LOL.) This isn't that big a deal today, since I'll be leaving for Joplin, MO soon, but on my return flight I'll be lurking in the KC airport for a whopping SEVEN HOURS between flights, so!

In any case, I've had a mad time in airports today: got all the way through the security line at Chicago only to be told I had to go back and check my bag if I wanted to get one of my Christmas gifts home. So...it was good that I arrived three hours early! Ugh. Thankfully, though, the weather is cooperating. My sympathies to folks in the northeast; I hope you all are keeping warm and staying safe!

We're supposed to get a really nasty storm at home in Kansas on Wednesday, so it's a very good thing I came home when I did!

So the Star Trek shirt I ordered from a cereal box way back in June finally arrived this week! They had to re-order it, 'cause they ran out of science blue. (Of course.) veriond got a command gold one, so the forecast is likely that we'll take pics together over the break!

This, naturally, has caused me to think about what position I would hold on a Starfleet ship, and I have reached the logical conclusion that, in the world of the future, I would be the Catholic chaplain. Why is this logical, you ask? Well! For one thing, it only makes sense that Starfleet would have several chaplains of different religious traditions for a mission that lasts as long as five years. This is pretty standard military practice now, and I don't think that's going to disappear. Also, there will absolutely be women priests in the world of the future.

Now, why in the world the Catholic chaplain would be running around in a blue shirt, I'm sure I don't know, except that blue seems to be kind of the catch-all color. Red is either ops or security, and gold is command, but blue covers everything from science to medical to history and anthropology. So...theology wouldn't be too much of a stretch?

Good Morning Everyone :) I don't have anything terribly exciting to report, but I'm here :) I know I don't post much, I really don't have much to say.
